Natural Hair | My Wash Day Routine

Yes! I've found my wash day routine. After weeks of trying slightly different steps and methods, I'm pretty sure I've found my happy place. For me it was so hard because I would get my hair done every week and my stylist took care of that, but now that I'm in charge its kinda difficult.
  • Wash: I shampoo my entire head with TreSemme Naturals Shampoo
  • Deep condition & detangle: I dab the excess water with a old tee before applying deep conditioner & oil spray to a section. I finger detangle a section before using my wide tooth shower comb to complete the detangling. I start from the ends and work my way up to the roots. I don't overcomb, I just pull the comb through twice or thrice to make sure they're no snags.
  • I part my hair into 4 sections and apply the DC to each section
  • Rinse: After 30-245 minutes, I rinse my entire head with apple cider vinegar
  • Condition:  After my hair is rinsed I apply my TreSemme Naturals Conditioner, then rinse and add my leave in conditioner
  • Dry:  I gently dab my hair with a old tee and loosely wrap the towel on my head for about 10 minutes
  • Seal: I apply my leave in conditioning cream, then my African shea butter then seal with my oils I combined
  • Style: I style my hair with either twist-outs, bantu knots or braids, then I tie it up for the day or night

I wash my hair once a week, usually on Saturdays or Sundays. I alternate between using shampoo and using conditioner (co-wash). I deep condition every other week.
